Alternative sign-in method
I have moved to open-source and am trying to use join on a phone without Google Play Services (microg). When trying to sign-in using the Join app, I get the error message, "Couldn't authorize on server: java.lang.illegalstateexception: GoogleApiClient is not connected yet."
Is there another way to authorize Join via Google or to use another sign-in method not dependent on Google's API?

Hi, when can we expect the translations to be updated? I see that on the OneSky app there are some fully completed yet not implemented ones :)

Perform a media scan after file transfer
One of my biggest issues with Join is that with every file transfer (photo/video) that I want to upload to Twitter, Instagram, etc I have to restart my phone for the media scanner to be triggered and the apps to register the file as present in their respective media browsers.
For instance, I use youtube-dl through a terminal on my phone to download videos and after each install, a script runs to run a media scan. I was wondering if that is something that can be done on Join as well.
I believe this is the documentation on the specific service.

Join Local Network with Duckdns and Lets encrypt
Hi guys I noticed Join's new web app suports local https which is great. Only 2 major draw backs to this approach is
1. Every time the ip changes (I assume) you would have to retrust the self signed cert
2. This method is highly susecptable to a mitm attack on a public network.
My idea is could you give an advanced option in join to always call a specified url for local connections (example: mylocaljoin.duckdns.org) and allow the user to import his/her own ssl cert pem file? I was hoping by using a trusted letsencryt cert mitm attacks could

Keep/View past notifications
It would be nice to be able to view all previous notifications, not just pushes.

Please add support for remote SMS feature to see contacts stored in the "Work Profile"
Please add support for remote SMS feature to see contacts stored in the "Work Profile" that Microsoft Intune and possibly other MDMs set up on Android devices.
Ever since my work forced us to install InTune, the Join sms functionality can no longer decode phone numbers of contacts stored in my Work Profile's contact list. This makes me sad.
See https://developer.android.com/work/contacts

Join MQTT device - expose Retain flag
After app dev was complete, I'm seeing that Home Assistant has unknown sensors after a restart. I see I can fix this if my Join MQTT pushes could have a Retain flag set during Publish.
From all I can find, this doesn't appear supported.
Any workaround? (Other than using another MQTT publish app.)
Thank you.

Disable forced smooth scrolling on the webpage
Currently the webpage ignores my setting of not using smooth scrolling and reintroduces a badly working variant of smooth scrolling through javascript.
The end result is a weird mixture between discrete jumps and smooth scrolling. I experience motion sickness when using the webpage on a desktop system.
Plus, on weaker systems (e.g. laptops running on battery) JavaScript smooth scrolling invariable becomes "laggy".

Adding a button in Join's forwarded notification to dismiss a notification only locally on receiving device
There are different use cases: Some users want to dismiss notifications across devices. Some do not.
Suggested solution: Dismiss notifications across devices (status quo), but provide a button to only "dismiss locally". Used depending on situation.
So if you dismiss a notification on receiving device you won't forget a new message when you return to original device some hours later.

Local Network discovery with Shared Devices?
Hi,
I use Join Query Devices in Tasker with my devices to trigger certain tasks if that device is on the local network. Idealy I'd like to do these with my wife's phone too - her Join account is in linked to her own Google Profile so within Join this is a 'shared device'. Using Join Query Devices in Tasker for any of the shared devices, always returns false for %joindevicelocalnetwork() even if on the same network.
Is there a way, perhaps in future versions, to have an option to allow local network discovery/sharing across shared devices? If this already

DND mode for Join desktop app while opening specific apps in windows
A DND mode for Join desktop app, either a global switch or enable it in specific apps.
The Join app/server stores the notifications and shows them when dnd is disabled (like if you switch off an android, after switching it on it recieves all the pushes sent while it was off)

Alt + F4 currently closes the desktop app completely. Could it instead minimize it to the tray?
When you use Alt+F4 or right-click the app on the taskbar and click Close, it closes the app completely. The icon disappears from the system tray. If possible, could there be an option to minimize to the system tray instead of closing? To exit the app, you would close from the system tray instead.

Do not cancel the message notification after replying
I activate the persistent notification but it does not work correctly, after replying the whatsapp or telegram notification is deleted both from the sending phone and the receiving phone, why?

Non-critical API key
Today: "API Key gives everyone that knows it access to all your devices so be very cautious who you share it with..."
Please add an option for "light" key, one that only provides access to send notifications , and maybe speech or such, but not read/access anything else.
I find the option to send notifications to Tasker/android very useful, but it is kind of wild to enter the URL with API key "everywhere" - some devices I do not consider to be very secure.
Having another API key for "non-critical" things like notifications would be very nice.

Get notification action
I work with two phones and really rely on the get notification action when I leave my work phone at the office.
It would be handy to have a custom action in Join to trigger GET notification with an action instead of always having to open the app -> click on the dots next to the device -> scroll down -> tap get notifications.
I know I could just always push the notifications but at work I don't want to receive every notification on my phone and my work phone constantly.

Join should support Google Messages encrypted chats
New Android devices often have Google Messages as the default SMS app, and it uses encryption and a data channel when you send messages to someone also using Google Messages. An incoming message of this form seems to be ignored by Join: no notification is sent to my other devices. Can Join be taught to see these messages and make them available on other devices? Could it at least see the notification on my phone, and notify other devices about the message (without producing two notifications for every old-fashioned SMS message that arrives)?

Most of the ways to access / devices do not work due to authentication with Google
Just installed everything for the first time ever. Paid for a couple apps. But most of the apps/extensions/web do not work due to not being able to login to Google.
Set up the Android app. Everything seems fine except the disability service enable permission notification is not going away even after enabling Join in the disability service apps. Diagnostics all green.
Connected through Join on the Web in the phone's Chrome browser. Everything works there.
Installed Chrome extension on Windows 10. Everything works except there are no SMS options anywhere. Diagnostics all green.

Handle Maps intent
I need a way to pull the information from maps links so I can forward it to another device
Should show up as a navigation app in similar to Google maps or Waze when selecting an address
