Automatically delete sent files from Drive after they've been downloaded on receiving device

When sending something from device A to device B, the files will be stored indefinitely in my Google Drive unless I manually delete them. Would be great if the file storage were only temporary, i.e. if the files were auto-removed as soon as the receiving device had successfully downloaded them.

Using Join can really clutter up the recent files list making it unusable. I've been getting around this by using stars and search in Drive but recent comes in really handy.

This could be done by using an Application Data folder in Drive. https://developers.google.com/drive/v3/web/appdata

Master ON OFF switch to turn JOIN on or off. Would come handy in certain situations (ie on holidays, roaming, etc etc).

I regularly use manual work-arounds to remove text messages and conversations from the Join SMS history. A method to do this from within the app/Chrome extension would be a great convenience.

Ability to choose where to place "Join files" folder in Google Drive?

Be able to choose to move the "Join files" folder in Google Drive from "My Drive" to another folder in My Drive, such that it would be "My Drive" > "Some Example Folder Name" > "Join files".

I use Google Drive for everything I do on my computer, navigating folders constantly on my computer throughout my day, and having another folder for Join is really frustrating. I would like to be able to hide it within my "Misc" folder to remove clutter.

How about a native mac app !

As a professional apple computer user i absolutely cant stand the limitations of apples ios for their mobile devices. Hence why i have been a huge android fan for over a decade now. Is there a way we can get Join to run natively on mac computers? I will beta test and help out as much as i can to make this happen if possible!

Type of phone number when texting or calling

It would be helpful to know what type of number when texting or calling. I only noticed this when I got my new phone since I did not restore my SMS messages. When calling or creating a SMS there is no way to know what kind of number it is making it impossible to know what to text or call unless you have the numbers memorized

Open source the Windows 10 app

I noticed that the Chrome extension and the Firefox extension are open source, but the Windows 10 app is not.

I understand why it's not a priority, I can't imagine the W10 app has nearly as many users as the Chrome extension. I feel like the Windows 10 app needs work and I would be willing to contribute to the project.

Improve Device Naming

Device naming is currently really annoying IMO so here is how I'd fix it.

Prevent devices receiving the same name.
Expand grouping system to allow custom groups.
Add device auto naming system based on device group.

Preventing duplicate names is a good idea as it's currently possible to get into a situation where you have two devices named the same and can't push to just one of them. While its great you can push to multiple devices, there are better ways to implement this functionality. Custom groups would allow devices to be grouped more logically than the current name-them-all-the-same tactic.

An auto-naming system is a must in my opinion. I don't want to be asked to name devices every time I sign into chrome at university. I'd recommend creating a naming system based the default device groups. For example, if I were to log into chrome, join should automatically name that instance something like Chrome-Untitled-1 so it is easily identified in the push list for temporary pushes. A custom notification should be shown in the list as well as in the options that allows the device to be given a name if desired. If that instance goes unnamed the device should then be deleted once that device goes offline/is closed.

Google Drive allows data to be datamined which should be avoided.

Assign colors to Join devices

Please allow to assign colours to the share icons. It's easier to distinguish multiple devices of the same kind. Same could be done for the device list in the join as well

Windows 10 End to End Encryption

I can enable end to end encryption on the join app for android, but then I am unable to do anything with the windows 10 app because it doesn't support end to end encryption. I'd love to be able to use this with the app.

Not sure how popular this may be, but I personally think being able to schedule send sms/mms messages would be valuable. Helpful for scheduling reminders to ones self or others.

I have been a loyal Chrome user for more than a decade, within the same month I switched to the new Edge browser I discovered join which was awesome for the three seconds before figuring out it does not work with Edge. Please add Edge support in the near future. In the mean time I will still support the devs with donations and use Join on my android and the sub par Windows store apps
