Encrypt Drive Files

Are there any plans to implement encryption for all files Join creates into Google Drive?

Google Drive allows data to be datamined which should be avoided.

Hi! I would like to second this request. The best case scenario would be to allow the option to encrypt the files in Google Drive using a certificate, or a password.

Join should allow the data to be reencrypted once stored on GDrive.

Source that Google allows info on Drive to be datamined?

I read the page however it doesn't address the issue of Google having access to the files.

"Google Drive is not HIPAA compliant

Because Google wants to be able to see everything you upload, they of course cannot claim HIPAA compliance."

The encryption keys are in Google servers so google has ultimate access to the Google drive data.

I would like to see this as well.  End-to-end means that at no point is it not encrypted between the sender and the receiver while in transit.  The burden of encryption is on the sender's device and the burden of decryption is on the receiver's... how can it be encrypted at all if it shows up on Google Drive in vanilla text.  The password acts almost as though its more of a hash comparison of the passwords only to give the receiving device permission to display the message... which itself is not encrypted.

2-Factor authentication codes and other sensitive materials are all out in the open for Google to data mine. Not that those codes last longer than a few minutes but the real issue is privacy. Period. Conversations... Shipping confirmations.  Messages from your pharmacy. Those are no one's business but our own.

Ok, you have a point. I'll consider it, thanks
