It already supports emoticons. :)

I can already with the chrome extension send the android emoticons?

I think David-Olivier is talking about emojis, which are not supported.

You should be able in the Join Google Extension the same things you could do on your phone with any regular text app, like sending mms, emojis, etc.

But emojis are already supported. You just don't have a way to easily select them, but you can use them just like any other characters. :)
