Yeah I totally agree, I prefer by far Safari to Chrome.

Please, consider this.
Chrome is a battery hog on Mac, and I haven't moved to Safari yet only because of Join. All my other extensions work on Safari.

Or even a Mac app! That would be cool too.

Hi there. The problem with the Safari Browser is that it doesn't support an API that allows it to receive push messages, which Join needs. Hopefully there'll be a workaround some time!

Obrigado João! I didn't know that. So it seems I will have to linger with the battery eater for longer...

Hey João, I just remembered that Safari supports website notifications. Wouldn't that work for Join? The notification would not come from an extension, of course, but it could come from the website https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/. So Safari users could receive all pushes and they would just need to access the website to send things. It's not a perfect solution, but I think it is a reasonable workaround... No extension involved.

Of course, you would have to evaluate if it is worth it to pursue this.

Yes, that's how I plan to do it for those that can't install the extension...
