when join is broken out of chrome (on my PC) and is the active window (in focus), dont flash a notification...  example, when I am on the notification screen viewing notifications, it is annoying when a new notification popup flashes on top...  also, when I am on the sms screen engaged in an SMS conversations, it is annoying when a popup flashes notification of a new message received from the same person I am texting.  also, when I am typing, if a new message comes in, the popup interrupts my typing when the notification flashes and shifts focus off the SMS input so I then have to click back inside the box to continue typing...   hope that makes sense...

now that said, if I am on the devices screen, i would still like the notifications to flash. and when Join (even if broken out of chrome) is not the active window (not in focus) I would still like the notifications to flash...  also, when I am on SMS/Phone screen, texting one person and another person texts, instead of flashing the popup, maybe just add a flag on the SMS/Phone so I know there is a waiting sms from someone else...   example "SMS/Phone (1 new)" and "SMS/Phone (2 new)..   maybe same for notifications that come in while I am on SMS... eg. Notifications (1 new)...  so that the popup notification flash doesnt interrupt my input.
